TORNE
RIVER
Torne River is the longest free falling river in Europe.
The salmon, the king among fish begins its journey up
the river to spawn at the beginning of June. The sea trout
begins its journey in May, after the break-up of the ice.
In Torne River and the Gulf of Bothnia, it is also possible
to fish perch, grayling, pike and whitefish.
Haparanda-Tornio and surroundings offers great fishing
possibilities. The area also offers several great sites
for stream fishing, among others, for example, the stream
in Kukkola, which is the largest stream in the river.
